Fake Pilot








Airport Police arrested a man posing as a pilot for national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia at the airport’s Terminal 3.
The man, identified as Alvin,

He was wearing a Garuda pilot uniform when he checked in at the Garuda counter.


Besides dressing in uniform, Alvin was also reportedly carrying a Garuda air crew ID.

Alvin was seen wandering around the terminal
before heading to a security check point
when a real Garuda pilot named Andre saw him and

he became suspicious of Alvin’s behavior.

Based on his suspicions, captain [Andre] then talked to the man,

but he replied with unclear answers,

Andre then reported Alvin to flight security personnel near the check point.

Alvin was a passenger on a Garuda flight to Semarang.

He was obsessed with the idea of becoming a pilot.

When he graduated high school he applied to get into a pilot school but he failed.

Alvin was still detained for questioning as of Friday evening.

The Airport Police have named a man.

He was allegedly pretending to be a pilot for national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.

Police have named him  a suspect for document forgery.

He was named a suspect for falsification of an aircrew identity card and
He was named a suspect for  using the card as if it was real.
Alvin could be charged under Article 263 of the Criminal Code on document forgery,
which carries a maximum penalty of six years imprisonment.

He was arrested at Terminal 3 Airport after wandering around

He dressed in a pilot uniform complete with the ID card on his chest.

Andre, a real pilot working for the airline, grew suspicious and spoke to Alvin, who he said

He gave him unclear and suspicious answers.

He then reported Alvin to airport security personnel who

The personnel forwarded the report to the Airport Police.
It was later found that he was a passenger of the airline's flight to Semarang, Central Java.

Alvin has pretended to be a pilot as it was his longtime obsession.
