Religion Attire

He wrote a public letter to respond to public comment.

They posted pictures of his family during funeral of his grandson.

She lost her seventh child, a 15-month-old toddler.

She was seen in a picture wearing a niqab.

Next to her was the morning father, wearing a white muslim turban.

The funeral pictures made the rounds on social media.

The pictures surprised some people.

He is the country’s top official on security.

He deals with radicalism and terrorism.

His family wore attire often associated with radicalism and terrorism.

The pictures also reminded some of his late son, who went to Africa to study the Quran and died there in 2013.

While he was studying there, some people said he was a follower  of radical islam, a terrorist cadre, and other things.

Under his own volition, he asked my permission to leave a very reputable university.. (kemauan sendiri).

Because he was concerned with the young generation’s behavior that did not show exemplary character. (prihatin – patut dicontoh).

Through internet, he chose an institution that did not have any political agenda.

It is a place to strengthen his understanding of the Quran.

It puts forward brotherhood and peace. (mengedepankan).

It was not a school for terrorist.

Unfortunately, a year into study, which was supposed to be for 7 years….

He died of an illness, while he was reciting the holy verses. (mendaraskan – membaca).

People derided (mengejek) him and made slander (fitnah).

I will not deign to respond to them (sudi berkenan)

They wore muslim attire and many people were surprised and

Social media was abuzz talking about them.

Some were happy to see them.

Some were insulting (menghina) and casting prejudice (melemparkan prasangka).

Some tried to relate the attire with my position.

I have devoted myself to the Mother Land for 5o years, 32 years in the military and 18 years in politics and government.

I have done a lot to protect the country’s unity, sovereignty, and dignity. (martabat).

Achievement, praise, slander, and insults I have lost count of them, but they do not dampen my love for this country and my belief in the state ideology.

This ideology has been in my body and soul.

Do not mix religion with state ideology.

Do not exploit religion for political gain and financial benefit.

I feel a sense of belonging, love, and defend this country wherever I am, whatever I do, because ..

I was born and raised here,

I got education and lived my life (menjalani kehidupan),

Even found my resting place.

Learn about religion to equip myself in the afterlife and for the benefits of fellow humans, the nation and state.

The depth of my religion is not measured by my clothes and appearance, but mainly by my morals and behavior.

I can wear anything I want as long as I am comfortable.

But the most important thing is do not use my appearance only to show off how Islamic I am.

I give them the freedom to be anything they want …

As long as they do not veer off the principle I taught them.

I always emphasized that they should do good for the country, instead of (bukannya) making the country suffer.

I have been lucky to receive the trust to become ….

Nome of them followed my footsteps in the military, or became a supplier of primary weapons systems.

I founded party, but none in family have become the party’s executives.

Indeed, I have asked them in earnest to not abuse my position for their personal interests. (sungguh-sungguh)
Is an earnest of

I am grateful that …. at this moment ..

I thank anyone who …has given their attention and prayers to me when my … died.

I hope all those would become the light for him when he meets God, the Most Beneficent.

The family of …is in mourning after the death of ….after …

He slipped into a fishpond at their house.

He has heard the news when he was in Sing accompanying President.

He immediately flew home to Jakarta.

He was playing at the fishpond, he slipped, and did not get help in time.

The family buried X in Central Java.

He has an omen before his son died.

The morning before the accident, he was flying at 3 a.m. to Kendari.

He has fallen asleep and he dreamed he was in the sea, swimming.

While he was enjoy swimming (the swin), some sea creature bit him.

He swam to the shore and looked back to the sea but ..

What he saw as a land with beautiful buildings on it.

When he arrived in Kendari, he called his wife and told her about the dream.

He thought the dream was amusing (menghibur menggelikan).

At noon he heard the news.

That moment I realized God would take what he had entrusted to me.

His son jumped into the pond while no one was paying attention.
