MRT try out



People crowd Bundaran HI Station to try out the MRT after casting their votes on Wednesday.

After casting their votes, Jakartans flocked to MRT stations to take advantage of the national holiday on Wednesday to try out the city’s new mode of transportation.

“It just happened that my siblings from outside the city came here to vote.

So I suggested that we try the MRT.

It’s a holiday anyway and we can relax.

She took the MRT from Lebak Bulus to Bundaran HI Station with five of her relatives.

Arriving at Bundaran HI Station in Central Jakarta, Yani said she planned to visit several shopping centers.

On election day, there are a lot of vendors who sell their food at discounted prices.

So we are looking for a place to eat.

East Jakarta resident Raihan also took his children out for the day to try out the MRT.

“When the MRT opened I didn’t get the chance to bring my kids along.

 I’ve tried it a few times, and because this is my day off

I took my kids along to try it out.

A South Jakarta resident Mira brought her parents along to try out the MRT.

“I thought that because of the holiday the MRT would not be crowded.

But it turned out to be very packed,

but what’s important is that I’ve brought my parents with me to try it out.

At Bundaran HI Station, a lot of people were lining up to buy tickets

as most of them did not have electronic money.
To take the MRT, passengers must purchase a single-use ticket

or use electronic money issued by Bank Mandiri’s E-Money, Bank BRI’s Brizzi, Bank BNI’s Tap Chash, Bank BCA’s Flazz, Bank DKI’s JakartaOne, and the JakLingko card.
