A man driving a black sedan reportedly lost control of his vehicle while driving in South Jakarta on Thursday evening,

crashing into one car and four motorcycles,.
The driver, identified as 38-year-old DS,

The driver hit the other vehicles at five different locations.

 “There were eight victims; seven of them were injured.

The injured include Sandi Sutami, 27, Iwan, 19, Hani, 20, Fitriah, 43, Salsabila Hanifa, 15, Fani, 16, and Moh. Erlan.
Among the victims were a ride-hailing motorcycle driver and his customer.
He reportedly crashed into the car just before a traffic light on Jl. Rasuna Said in Kuningan,
then continued driving for about an hour, hitting four motorbikes along his path.
He has been detained by the police and admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The police are currently waiting for his blood and urine test results to ascertain whether he had been driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

So far, DS will be charged under Article 312 of the 2009 Traffic and Transportation Law for reckless driving and causing major injuries,.
He could face a 10-year prison sentence if found guilty.
