Tear Down Wall

School renovation works have claimed the life of LN, 59, 

after walls collapsed on her food stall.

The incident took place when construction workers were tearing down walls shared with LN’s food stall. 

 “When the walls were torn down, they fell on her food stall

Two others, an employee of the food stall and a customer, sustained injuries.

They have been admitted to Husada Hospital, Central Jakarta.

The police are questioning several witnesses and investigating the case further.

Police have named four suspects
in a case of alleged negligence in a school-renovation project

that caused a wall in state elementary school SD 11 to collapse claiming one life.

We have named four suspects in the investigation of the case.


The four suspects are : the operator of heavy equipment, the project supervisor AM, and workers SI and FS.
The owner of a food stall next to the school, died after

a wall the construction workers were demolishing collapsed onto her food stall.

Besides killing LN, two people inside the food stall were also injured in the incident.

The workers allegedly did not inform LN before tearing down the wall.

Moreover, the construction work was undertaken without a letter of authority or coordination with local residents.


“So they tore down the walls without making any confirmation

or providing information related to the activity.

The suspects will be charged under Article 359 of the Criminal Code on negligence causing death,

with a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment.
