Transjakarta
buses will start operating inside the (UI) campus.
there will
be 35 buses serving routes from Lebak Bulus, to UI and Manggarai, to UI.
“After
the routes are operational, the Kampung Rambutan to UI route will be added.
Passengers
using the buses around the campus will not be charged.
Meanwhile,
passengers that would like to travel outside the campus will be charged the
regular fee starting at Rp 3,500 (24 US cents).
Transjakarta
will conduct a trial run for its routes inside
UI.
The purpose of the trial run is to identify the facilities needed
for the Transjakarta buses on the campus.
“As
students are still on
holiday in early August,
we
thought it would be an ideal time to carry out a trial run for the buses.”
He expressed
hope that with the
introduction of Transjakarta routes in and out of the campus,
students would be enticed to use public
transportation instead of private vehicles.
