To help the underperforming Kartajati International Airport,

Stakeholders  gathered at a meeting organized by the Transportation Ministry.

During the meeting, all parties agreed that

nearly all flights from Bandung to airports outside Java would be relocated to Kertajati Airport from Husein Airport.
the West Java provincial government, welcomed the agreement  (menyambut baik)
and thanked Transportation Minister for his commitment to help Kertajati Airport.
“We appreciate and thank the transportation minister,

who has strong a commitment to make Kertajati Airport busier,”

Since Airport opened last year, only a few airlines have been interested in operating from the airport,
preferring Husein, which is closer to the inner city.
the Islamic holiday that will fall in early June.
Husein Sastranegara Airport serves 80 flights every day, while Kertajati Airport serves one route from the 11 initially planned.

The occupancy rate on each flight is reportedly below 30 percent.

Singgih said the main route to the airport from Bandung was the Cikampek-Palimanan toll road that took two-and-a-half hours,

while the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan toll road, which will become the main route to the airport, was still under construction.
